SIMPLY GARDENING
My mother once called me a farmer and I responded that I was a gardener. I often think of her comment and wonder if I am a farmer vs. a gardener. I still believe I am a gardener that truly loves the smell of the earth and feels great joy when the work produces fruit.
As January ended and February began I was out in the front yard tending my flower beds. These flower beds have roses, herbs, shrubs and trees that have been selected for their beauty, fragrance and flavor. With the help of my children and my granddaughter these plants were pruned, weeded, transplanted and fertilized. Over the past two weeks my little plants have grown new shoots and tiny flower blossoms.
I love gardening and appreciate the beauty and wonder of each plant in my yard. Here is a sampling of my work:
